SACRAMENTO NATIVE MALCOM TEARS II AND ELITE IN-HOME PERSONAL TRAINING ENRICHES LIFESTYLES WITH HEALTH, ENTHUSIASM, AND PHYSICAL FITNESS SUCCESS THROUGH THE VALLEY’S FIRST IN-HOME PERSONAL TRAINING COMPANY

(SACRAMENTO, CA)  Born and raised in Sacramento California, Malcolm Tears II was destined for a successful career within the fitness industry due to his athletic and scholastic accomplishments, as well as having many great mentor’s who believe Elite In-Home Personal Training’s mission.

“My passion for sports formed early, as my Uncle, Dusty Baker, taught me how to be successful through hard work, commitment, and discipline.  Having the opportunity to chat with baseball greats such as Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, JT Snow, Orlando Cepeda, and others as a San Francisco Giants Bat Boy also gave me depth, insight, and the confidence needed for a successful athletic career, as well.”

Tears would go on to play football for Fresno State University, following in the footsteps of his cousin, Marquez Pope.  He would go on to break three all-time school records as a true freshman.  Having a promising and successful freshman campaign, he was destined for greatness and considered one of the top backs on the team.  However, fate followed his sophomore year, as he would tear his ACL and Meniscus in summer training camp, forcing him to move back and live in Sacramento.

Having a difficult time dealing with the sudden loss of his football career, he decided to make the most of his situation by taking a job as a personal trainer while finishing school at California State University, Sacramento.  It was then that he decided to become a bodybuilder, entering and winning his first bodybuilding competition.

“I trained myself and did all of my own meal planning to show current and future clients that I had mastered the art of getting in shape, whether it was toning or taking it to the extreme and achieving the conditioning required to be a top level bodybuilder.”

Malcolm’s success in the sport of bodybuilding continued, as he was featured in Flex Magazine shortly after his first victory. This past March, he was offered an endorsement contract with one of the industry’s largest supplement companies.  Malcolm chose to respectfully decline the offer, as it would take him away from the business and Elite’s In-Home Personal Training’s mission:  “Influence Americans to Make Health and Fitness a Lifestyle, Not a Goal.”

Staying busy as always, Malcolm added more to his plate.  His love and passion was for bodybuilding and personal training, and although these were two things he loved doing and continued to do, they were no longer adequate to accomplish his goals.  As college was coming to an end, he got a real-estate license and also began working as a Director for a 70 million dollar corporation.  The corporate twelve-hour a day job took it’s toll and took him completely out of his strength zone.  Despite the great income as a one of the companies top performer, he absolutely disliked it!  This learning experience eventually brought him back to his strength zone; back to what he does and loves best, “INFLUENCING AMERICANS TO MAKE HEALTH AND FITNESS A LIFESTYLE, NOT A GOAL!”

Shortly after returning to the fitness industry, Malcolm met the first two of his current group of mentors, two highly respected international business professionals who give him valuable insight, support, and the encouragement needed to continue where he left off.  Now he is back operating Sacramento’s only successful in-home personal training company.

Currently, Elite In-Home Personal Training is the only personal and professional in-home personal training company in Sacramento.  All personal trainers are insured, background-checked, and certified.  The company guarantees results, or your money back!  Their list of clients ranges from the ages of 6 to 63 years old.  They train clients for all aspects of competition and personal goals, whether it’s the high school star running back training for a collegiate career, or the full-time, working mother and father.

Elite In-Home Personal Training has changed countless lives, and is continuing to do so.  Whether it’s through their high school outreach program, their annual charity event, getting closet smokers to quit smoking, or by influencing clients to achieve personal weight management goals, the company’s results are fascinating and reachable for all.

Therefore, Elite In-Home Personal Training hopes to influence Sacramento and the American population to make Health and Fitness a Lifestyle, Not a Goal!  One-on-one personal training is vital in beginning this journey because the road to great physical health and happiness begins with each individual.  Start your engines and get moving!  If you are ready to make a personal change to begin living an enriched life by making Health and Fitness a Lifestyle, Not a Goal; and are in need of personal and professional assistance, please contact Malcom Tears II and the Elite In-Home Personal Training staff at (916) 548-3083 for more information.

Selecting a Good Personal Trainer

Q: I’d like to hire a personal trainer but I’m not sure what I should look for to make sure I get a good one. Any help?

A: To increase your odds of hiring a qualified trainer, ask these 10 questions:

1) Do you have a college degree in kinesiology or exercise science? A degree in itself isn’t failsafe, but it improves your chances of hiring a knowledgeable trainer. Core classes consisting of anatomy, physiology, exercise programming and exercise prescription are standard in exercise science curriculum.

2) Are you certified by a nationally recognized organization? These certifying agencies are the most recognized certifications in the industry. All require a minimum score on a demanding exam. Some require a college degree as a prerequisite to becoming certified.

3) What type of workouts do they do themselves? How frequently? Personal experience with exercise is VITAL to be an effective personal trainer. There is no substitute for hands-on experience with strength, cardiovascular and flexibility training.

4) What is your knowledge of nutrition? Often, the missing ingredient with someone not achieving their fitness goals is improper nutritional habits. Typically, trainers are not registered dieticians but if they have a kinesiology degree, or are certified through a well established organization, they likely have had nutrition classes.

5) Do you have experience working with special populations? This may or may not be applicable to your situation, but if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease etc., it is imperative that your trainer has the knowledge to prescribe appropriate exercise.

6) Do you have expertise in athletic performance enhancement? Again, this applies only if you’re interested in training for a particular sport. Proper sport-specific training often is beyond the scope of many personal trainers.

7) Do you have liability insurance? Personal trainers should carry liability insurance; a risk of injury exists any time you engage in physical activity. Proper insurance coverage would protect you and your trainer in any lawsuits.

8) Are there any incentives for pre-payment? Many trainers offer a discounted rate for payment received in advance. Pre-payment also tends to improve exercise adherence.

9) Is there a time commitment involved with your services? Sometimes trainers require a minimum number of sessions before they will accept you as a valued client.

10.) What is your availability? You must be sure that your personal trainer will be available at times convenient for your daily schedule.

Other issues like personality traits and integrity will surface the more you work with your trainer. One last thing; be sure to look for past results!  If the personal trainer you are thinking about working with has a history of success with clients, it is very probable that you will achieve your goals as well.  Remember, it’s a two-way street. You make the commitment to exercise regularly, and the trainer commits to helping you achieve your goals!

The most important part of any routine is that it be realistic.  When referring to an exercise routine, what I see as realistic is most likely diffrent than what you consider to be realistic.  For example, I do not enjoy doing cardio. I do the minimum amount of cardio necessary to maintain good cardiovascular health; twenty minutes, four times per week.  Due to the fact that I only do a minimal amount of cardio, I keep my intensity very high when I lift weights to compensate for the lack of time and intensity in my cardiovascuar routine.  Combining that with senseable nutritional habbits (sensible for me, mind you) I am able to maintain around 8% body fat year round so it is not as much of a challenge to get to 3% bodyfat during competition time.

This relates to you in that your lifestyle is diffrent than mine.  You may enjoy cardio and not enjoy weight trainig as much.  You may not have a problem following a very disiplined meal plan,  you may like a lot of variety when it comes to nutrition.  The Health and Fitness Lifestyle is about seamlessly integrating the way you want to live your life with your health goals.

This is where we come in.  Our Health and Fitness Lifestyle Directors will plan and show you how it will be done. Our personal trainers will guide you along the course to success.  With your Health and Fitness Lifestyle Director periodically checking in on you, our team of professionals invite you to feel the Health and Fitness Lifestyle experience.

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! We would love to hear some funny stories from this summer’s events…..no matter how crazy they may seem!  So lets hear some stories!
